Digital product studio PLAY creates business solutions through designing products that engage both employees, and customers alike. PLAY has been working to bring the hundo product to life, and we caught up with software engineer, Tom, about life and work at the company! Find out his inside scoop below.
Tell us about your role at PLAY?
At PLAY I work as a Software Engineer. I pretty much do the full stack (frontend and backend development). Our designers and product people do a wonderful job designing some great products and I write some code that turns them into reality.
What's your favourite part of the job?
My favourite part of my job normally comes at the end of a project. I get a lot of satisfaction when a project is finally done and I get to see the result of what we've created. Nothing beats the feeling of creating something out of nothing!
What's your best PLAY memory?
Probably, fireworks night 2021 at the Tanneries, for reasons I will not disclose here for the sake of those involved!
What's your career highlight?
Oooh this is a hard one. There are a few things that I've worked on that I'm quite proud of. I was an early employee at Plum back when it was a tiny start-up with about 7 people, and that's gone on to do really well. More recently, working for PLAY has been great because I've got to work on a whole host of different projects from the ground up, with hundo of course being the most interesting of them all! It's very fulfilling to work for and with a company with a goal you actually believe in.
What are your hopes for the future?
At the moment, I'm just trying to learn as much as I possibly can. I'm saying yes to every opportunity, and I am not afraid to fail. Eventually I would like to start my own start-up one day, or maybe even travel abroad and digital nomad it up!
