Tech London Advocates, Black Women In Tech will release their debut book, The Voices in the Shadow on the 28th of October.

The Voices in the Shadow will amplify the voices of 51 black women who are at the top of the tech game, with the goal of inspiring a younger generation. The book will be readily distributed to 300 secondary schools for free with the plan to eventually distribute a copy to every school, nationwide.

TLA Black Women in Tech is one of the largest collectives of tech leaders and boasts a thriving network of more than 12,000 tech leaders, entrepreneurs and experts across the UK and in over 50 countries around the globe.

Founder of TLA Black Women In Tech, Flavilla Fongang said ‘ I decided to create this book to revive hope. The Voices In The Shadow illuminates the voices of under-represented talented black women, so we can impact the present and the next generations.’

Digital and Culture minister Caroline Dinenage backs the book saying that 'It's important for children to know they can do anything in life, and books like The Voices in the Shadows can help them discover new role models and inspire them to aim for the stars. We’re committed to working with the industry to create a more diverse tech sector which is positive for society, makes good business sense and helps ensure tech works for everyone.’

Here at hundo we are excited to say that we are backing The Voices in The Shadow and have sponsored the book alongside the likes of Google, Amex and and Toyota.
